CDA Chairman Noor ul Amin Mengal met with housing societies and high rise building owners in Islamabad on Sunday to build emergency stairs. Representatives from the appropriate government agencies were also present.
During the meeting, CDA Chairman Captain Noor ul Amin Mengal gave a deadline of 6 months to the owner of high-rise buildings in Islamabad to construct emergency stairs outside the building console.
Owners who are not in compliance after 6 months will face legal action.
Buildings in Islamabad with four or more stories will be required to install emergency stairways, as decided at the conference.
The CDA Chairman further ordered that future constructions must be designed with open space for front and back parking according to the plot size. The gathering also voted to set up a fast counter for same-day property transfers.
The CDA Chairman also proposed increasing the frequency of design committee meetings from every two weeks to once a week.
The meeting ended with the expectation that it would pave the way for future progress in Islamabad.
